spidr alpha relaunch

Spidr (still in alpha) is back. this release took way more time than it should have. but here it is finally. there are still quite a few bugs in there but we hope to keep fixing them as soon as we (or you) find ‘em.

meanwhile the iPhone app is also on its way (as soon as the Gods at Apple approve it for the 10,000th time) to your nearest iphone so watch out here.

website is up

Yo Spidrs,

The website is up finally. Its a reflection of the iPhone application but hopefully much easier to use when you have your notebook open. Of course nothing beats the iPhone when you are mobile.

this is still a very early alpha and we are driving hard to get rid of the bugs. But we’d love to hear from you about your thoughts, ideas about features, and really irritating bugs if come across one.

Ping us at feedback at ispidr dot com or use the contact form from the links.

happy hopping!!

Update 0.9 is out!

A bunch of new features this time:

  • Inbox: Your very own Spidr inbox!!
  • Feeds: Subscribe to web feeds delivered into your Spidr inbox
  • Personal Messaging: Send/Receive personal messages
  • Profile picture: Add a picture to your Spidr profile, checkout profile pictures of fellow Spidrs
  • Search bar: on the home screen
  • Digest email: Receive daily digest from your favorite webs
  • Simpler Navigation: Conversations are gone, go directly to messages
  • Settings tab: control your email, feed behavior
  • More fixes and stability of course

Removed geo-tagging for good. there are a whole lot of apps that do that but we dont think its a terribly useful functionality once the novelty wears off…

do ping us on the contact page for any ideas, suggestions, tips, bugs etc. that you have in mind about Spidr.

Happy web hopping!!

update 0.8

update 0.8 is under works. Thanks ‘to Aet’ for leaving us a kind note emphasizing the positives of an update. Very useful for getting Spidr more visibility.

Meanwhile heres whats coming in the update:

  • Simplified navigation: we received a few complaints about the app being ‘not easy’ to use. We hope this update will fix that to some extent, though this will continue to evolve.
  • Easier, more intuitive web creation.
  • Minor bug fixes.

Do let us know your experiences with Spidr and more so if you hated it or thought it was ‘trash’. A slightly detailed thought dump would be much more useful to us than one word reviews.
