Q. What does Spidr do for me?

A. Spidr helps you broadcast to people who may be sitting next to you in a coffee shop or pub or go to the same school or work in the same building or live in the same neighborhood as you do. Spidr enables conversations with people who are not in your contact list but share physical space with you.

Q. What is a Web?

A. A ‘Web’ is where Spidrs hangout.  An easy way to visualize a web is to think about the place that it refers to. So if it is the ‘Haas School’ web, you may be out of place if you don’t go there! On the other hand, the ‘Telegraph Ave’ web is a mixer for all sorts of Spidrs.

Q. Does Spidr know who I am?

A. Spidr knows your display name and picture. That’s what other Spidrs in the same Web as you see. Other Spidrs never see any personally identifiable information like name or email or phone number or SSN! And you are advised not share any such information on a Web (ever!) although you may choose to do so in a personal message if you absolutely trust/know the other Spidr.

Q. What goes into my profile and who can see it?

A. Your Spidr profile consists of – display name, picture & status. Everybody connected to the same Web as you can see your display name and picture. You can also choose to disclose your facebook profile page or your twitter feed. This information will be visible only to your Spidr friends.

Q. Can I get feeds from a certain web?

A. Yes. flick the Feed button to on position. Feeds will be delivered to your Spidr inbox. If you have subscribed to email alerts, you will received daily digest in your email inbox.

Q. What if I want to checkout a web in another city?

A. Use the awesome web search on the top right corner of the screen.
